The project emerges from a shared desire to create a collective space for artists working across diverse disciplines, initiated by a group based in Lucerne. Recognizing the city as a vibrant network of varied practices, shaped by its strong regional educational landscape, we support emerging artists and strengthen the existing community.
Located in the BaBeL Quartier of Lucerne, our space serves not only as a place for artistic creation and experimentation, but also as a platform for cultural development, exchange, and community engagement within this diverse and dynamic neighborhood.
Through multidisciplinary programming, accessible workshops, children’s concerts, and an Open Call program that welcomes voices from different diasporas, we position ourselves as a center for experimentation and open contemporary creation.

Weaving and sound have always been intertwined. From winters spent harvesting and rhythmically beating cotton, to evenings of singing while spinning fibre; from women’s circles exchanging stories or passing on knowledge to future generations, to a more solitary practice of thinking by doing. Threads are lines both concrete and symbolic, that carry sonic memory. “What holds” is an improvisation that explores tension as a shared condition between weaving and sound. In both practices, tension is what allows structure to emerge, shaping rhythm through resistance: it gives resonance to strings and sustains the warp. A piano, a guitar, and a metal structure composed of heddles (an essential part of pattern formation on the loom) are activated as resonant bodies and manipulated using tools such as needles, a bow, and magnets. If tension is one of the conditions that allows structures to resonate, what kinds of structures are we sustaining today? In a time no longer guided by natural cycles and an absence of direct relationships with world material, what methods can we create to repair and redefine these structures from within?
