The project emerges from a shared desire to create a collective space for artists working across diverse disciplines, initiated by a group based in Lucerne. Recognizing the city as a vibrant network of varied practices, shaped by its strong regional educational landscape, we support emerging artists and strengthen the existing community.
Located in the BaBeL Quartier of Lucerne, our space serves not only as a place for artistic creation and experimentation, but also as a platform for cultural development, exchange, and community engagement within this diverse and dynamic neighborhood.
Through multidisciplinary programming, accessible workshops, children’s concerts, and an Open Call program that welcomes voices from different diasporas, we position ourselves as a center for experimentation and open contemporary creation.

Reescribindo el tiempo
What happens when we stop and listen to a place?
The project reescribiendo el tiempo by Aya Masui & Pablo Félez developed from a week of field research in Alcorisa, Spain. During their residency at Noef Noef Atelier, the artists continue exploring how the sounds of a place can be collected, transformed and shared — now including the sounds of Luzern and the participation of local people.

👉 11:00 | Sound Walk & Recording Workshop
Join us for a walk around Baselstrasse to discover and collect sounds from the surrounding environment. We’ll listen to everyday sounds, find objects and explore the sonic character of the area.
🎙️ We then return to the atelier for a recording session with objects & live electronics.

An audio-visual performance combining acousmatic sound and projection.
The work explores how different perspectives of a place can coexist, overlap and merge into one shared space — bringing together the sounds collected during the residency and the experiences of the artists and local participants.

2 SEASON @ Noef Noef Atelier Aug. - Dec. 2026
Noef Noef Atelier is a residency project that invites artists to spend time in residence at our space developing their practice. Each residency culminates in a final public event, generally held on the last Sunday of each month, where the resident artist or artists presents the work, research, or outcome developed during their stay.
Alongside the final presentation, the programme also includes a free workshop open to the public, offering participants the opportunity to meet the artists, discover their creative process, and take part in a shared artistic experience.
Through this combination of artistic residency, public presentation, and accessible education, Noef Noef Atelier aims to create a space for experimentation, exchange, and dialogue between artists and the wider community.
